The task of the dancers is to animate the events in the text and in the music through movement. And it happens wonderfully ...
... impressive staging by Giuseppe Spota.
He charmed the audience with visually stunning scenes,
impressive choreography especially for the Choir who is an active part in the work.
The dancer, choreographer and director, current director of the Ballet of Gelsenkirchen, with this work he managed to get under the skin.
All in all an extraordinarily well made production and a highly impressive combination to behold for opera and ballet lovers.
The opera house Dortmund surprises me and fascinates me again and again - this time with a work by Philip Glass and a beautiful staging.
It was simply awesome.
The director and choreographer is Giuseppe Spota, you can only congratulate him on this performance.
... The choreographer and director Giuseppe Spota has found quite impressive images for this Opera.
The audience was visibly moved and gave its applause and support to all the collaborators and the team as thanks for an extraordinarily rare opera evening.
15 minutes of applause for "Akhenaton" at the Theater Dortmund.
Before the applause comes to an end after almost 15 minutes, the Dortmund opera house was one last time to witness one of those expressive images in which the screenplay by Giuseppe Spota of the work "Akhenaton" by Philipp Glass is generous.
... sensual, completely animated and pure choreography.
The Friday night premiere became an acclaimed event.
The images of Spota's staging for this interlude of opera and ballet, in his imagination and creativity inspire and adapt perfectly to the minimal music of the 82-year-old American composer.
... it is wonderful and excites both the dance audience and the opera audience.
